Manual – Drawings

In MapAnalyst you can draw lines and polygons. To start drawing, activate the pen tool by selecting the Draw Lines and Polygons button in the toolbar. Click in the map to add points; double-click to close a polygon and start the next one. For open lines switch to another tool of the toolbar and then back to the pen tool.

Show Transformed Drawing

MapAnalyst can transform your lines and polygons to the map that is currently analyzed. Set the checkmark Show Transformed Drawing to transform the drawings. Note that the non-transformed drawing will always be displayed. Use Analyze - Old Map or Analyze - New Map to select the map that will receive the transformed drawings.

Import Drawing

MapAnalyst can import points, lines and polygons to a map. Select the Import Drawing button to choose a file. Specify in the dialog whether the drawings should be imported to the new or to the old map. To import a drawing, the file has to be in the Ungenerate file format, which can be generated by many GIS.

MapAnalyst can import points that are stored in ASCII text files (see the table below). The columns are separated by a semicolon, a comma, a space character, or by a tab space:
First column:Second column:Third column:
Point IDX - CoordinateY - Coordinate

Important: Points that are imported in this way cannot be linked, and cannot be used for the computation of statistical values or visualizations.

Export and Clear Drawings

See the Export page for information about how to export your drawings to a file.
Clear your drawings by choosing the Clear Drawing button.
